These are about grape-fruit sized (40/8 = 5.0" in diameter) decorative clear bulbs for 100 Watt application. Most are in printed packaging; they are stamped "100 W" on the bulbs. Described as Globelites, by Marvel, the manufacturer.
These are commonly used in more of a commercial display application; using standard medium-base sockets. Retail is probably in the $3 - 5.00 each range.
